Hi and welcome, my name is Rainiero Dinarte, but let’s keep it simple, you can call me Rai since we’re amongst friends 🙂
I’m a guy from Costa Rica who loves to travel, and I’m planning a 5 months trip around Europe, Asia and Africa. I’ll document my journey and all the planning in here. How to plan a trip? What do I need to consider when travelling for a longer time? How to start a blog if I know nothing about blogs? Well, all I know about blogs, is what I read to start with this one, so it’s going to be a process of learning together 🙂 My intention is to help you as much as I can in any aspect related to travel in your life.
How it all started…
I don’t come from a wealthy family, but we’ve always had something to eat, and my parents did all they could for giving me a good education. However, I consider I was an overprotected kid (my mother would say otherwise, which is proof that I’m right :D). So when I was 16 and a company offered me the opportunity to live one year abroad, I didn’t think much about it and just said yes!
I decided to go to Italy, so I went from being a kid who barely went out of the house, to taking a plane to a different continent. I didn’t know a single word in Italian. Had no friends over there. I hadn’t even taken a flight before! But the experience completely opened my mind. I learned that when you travel, you shouldn’t think if something’s right or wrong, just realize it’s different. Plus I made a lot of friends for which I still care a lot, and I still smile every time I think about Italy 🙂
Years passed by and I got consumed by life. Going to university, finding a normal job behind a desk, thinking about buying a house and car… But one day, I heard about really cheap plane tickets to Peru. The next day I bought tickets with 3 friends, and I felt really excited about travelling again. I made some other short trips, but every time I felt more and more the need to visit just one more place, and one more place… and one more place…
Months after, I found an article about Johnny Ward. In case you don’t know him, it’s an Irish who just decided he had to visit every single country in the world, and has earned more than one million dollars on the journey! You can visit his page One Step 4Ward. This guy inspired me, and now I want to inspire you to pursue your dreams, and help you as much as I can, especially if your dream is bound to travel as mine!
The real question is why not? I’m truly passionate about traveling. I love meeting new people, getting to know different cultures, being in places that amaze you with their beauty, spirituality or majesty. I love the feeling of getting down from an airplane, bus, boat or train and not being sure of what to expect, listening to a different language or accent…
Travel has given me many of the most amazing experiences and best memories of my life. Now I want to share that with you. I was inspired by many people to chase that dream of travel. And I want to inspire people on chasing their dreams too. Maybe it’s not traveling, maybe it’s cooking, writing, teaching or having a corporate job. But we should all chase our dreams with everything we’ve got.
So what will I find in here?
You will find a journey. When I wrote this text, I had some savings for my trip, a blog with no entries, and the conviction that I want this. I REALLY WANT IT. So I’ll share with you my journey about how I prepare my trip, how I prepare my blog, how it feels to make something grow from scratch, all the amazing experiences that I hope to find out there, but also all the doubts and roadblocks that will come and how to overcome them (I’m confident I will). Probably a lot will change about this blog, but the only thing I don’t want to change is this single paragraph, to remind me how I started to build a dream.
But really, what will I find in here?!
Ok ok, so you want me to give details, and not just an inspirational speech? You’ll find information about my previous trips. Good experiences to enjoy. Bad ones so you can avoid making the same mistakes. How to plan your travel and how to start your own blog. The cool stuff you can use to document your travels. In general, useful information about travelling and how to maintain a blog while you do it.
Since you bore with me until the end, why not give it a try and subscribe to my site? Those who subscribe during the early stages of this blog will have a premium treatment when this becomes huge 😉
